FROM CARPETS TO CLOTHES: ABC Carpet & Home is delving deeper into apparel. Next month, the retailer will open a separate floor for apparel at its Flatiron District store in New York, according to sources. The apparel that will be offered will be eco-friendly and will run the gamut from men’s and women’s to children’s wear. The home furnishings store has dabbled in apparel in the past, carrying a smattering of sustainable fashions. There is also a boutique for Gary Graham in its store at 19th and Broadway; that collection is also available on its Web site, along with a selection of organic children’s wear, sleepwear, jewelry and accessories. An ABC Carpet spokeswoman did not return phone calls seeking comment Friday.
