AFTER THE STORM: On Wednesday evening, Ralph Lauren’s Alfredo Paredes opened the doors to the home he shares with his partner, Brad Goldfarb. The occasion? Summer cocktails and an introduction to the Hetrick-Martin Institute, which offers a safe haven for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and is home of the Harvey Milk High School. The night’s flash storm passed just in time for guests like Francisco Costa, Sophie Theallet, Maria Cornejo, Ruffian’s Claude Morais and Brian Wolk, Harlan Bratcher, John Bartlett, Valerie Steele and Bette-Ann Gwathmey to make their way to the extensive terrace.
Paredes, who sits on Hetrick-Martin’s board and cohosted the event with Charles Fagan, Steven Kolb and Pierre Rougier, felt it was important to get the fashion crowd to become more familiar with the organization. Plus, he noted, the space lends itself to entertaining. “I always like having people over,” Parades said.
