ALL THE YOUNG GIRLS: Designer Melissa Coker of Wren celebrated the release of her fall collection Sunday evening at TenOverSix boutique with the short film “Beware of Young Girls,” featuring fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson. Directed by Sarah Sophie Flicker and Maximilla Lukacs, the film shows Gevinson singing a 1970 Dory Previn song. Guests including Jenny Lewis, Annie Monroe and Thomas Bangalter viewed the three-minute film in which Gevinson wears looks from the mixed-print collection and also plays guitar. “Tavi and ‘Beware of Young Girls’ symbolize a bright, intelligent and empowering future for young girls,” said Flicker of the collaboration, mentioning future film plans with Coker. Anticipating the September print release of her feminist-minded teen magazine Rookie, the 16-year-old Wren-clad Gevinson said: “It’s hard to balance creative projects with school, so I’d like to take a gap year [after high school]. To focus on one thing would be nice.”
