SMOOTH SAILING: Olympic sailing champion Francesco Bruni steered his Azzurra team to a 2-0 victory against New Zealand in the Louis Vuitton Trophy on Sunday, marking the first Italian victory against the Kiwis since 1992.

 

The trophy, which was staged in the Baie des Anges in Nice, France, follows the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series, which bowed in Auckland, New Zealand earlier this year and was co-sponsored by the French luxury house and the World Sailing Team Association.

 

Louis Vuitton founded the series in 2008 after terminating its near 25-year association with the America's Cup.
