BE HAPPY: Corporate culture and commerce are coming together in DH by Delivering Happiness, a new apparel collection from Delivering Happiness, the consultancy started by Zappos.com Inc. chief executive officer Tony Hsieh and his business partner Jenn Lim to inspire companies to foster happiness in the workplace. Lim described the collection, which makes its debut this month exclusively on Zappos with 25 pieces before expanding next month to 100 pieces priced from roughly $49 to $130, as having the “quality of James Perse,” but at a “lower price point.” The Los Angeles-made collection’s pieces incorporate Delivering Happiness’ message with graphics of its winking Smiley face logo Winkey and various slogans, including “Do Good Feel Good” and “Inspire + Be Inspired.”
At Zappos, the collection’s shirts, cardigans, skirts and hoodies would be office appropriate. Lim said the company’s main wardrobe policy is that employees shouldn’t wear offensive items. “We don’t see it as an article of clothing, we see it as expression,” she said, adding that, at Zappos, “You will see flip flops. You will see shorts. You will see someone tat’d all over their body.” All of the net profits from DH by Delivering Happiness will support Delivering Happiness’ mission.
