RED ALERT: Look who’s on the calendar of Paris couture week: Hervé Leroux. The designer formerly known as Hervé Leger will be among four guest members showcasing their spring 2013 collections during Paris couture week, set for Jan. 21 to Jan. 24.
Leroux, whose label is called Hervé L. Leroux is to host a presentation on Jan. 24 in the showroom that he recently opened on Rue de Seine on the Left Bank of Paris.
The designer, known for his draped dresses, plans to show 12 pieces there, and five other pieces will be on display in the windows of Colette, he said.
This is the first time he is doing a presentation since 1999, when he was ousted from his namesake house by owner Max Azria. (It was in the ready-to-wear calendar then.) “I have been very discreet,” he told WWD, adding that he plans to “reappear.” “We sell around 200 couture dresses per year, ” he also noted.
Other guest members to the couture week ’s calendar are the duo of French designers Lefranc Ferrant, Jordanian-born, Canada-based designer Rad Hourani, who joined couture week for the first time last season, and Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. The collections of those houses will also be scheduled on the last day of couture week.
