Luxury goods titan Bernard Arnault, the richest man in France, had an audience Wednesday with France’s new Socialist government, whose campaign promises included a 75 percent tax rate for incomes over one million euros, or $1.3 million. The tête-à-tête between the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton chief and France’s Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault to discuss the general economic situation lasted about 40 minutes in the politician’s official residence, in Paris.
