GOING BY MEMORY: Michael Roberts was in Milan at 10 Corso Como to present his third, exclusive collaboration with Carla Sozzani’s store. He channeled his creativity into 15 portraits of well-known industry figures — including Carine Roitfeld, Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Moss, Giorgio Armani and Miuccia Prada — printed on white t-shirts.
“I know these people very well; I know their expressions so that I can reconstruct their face starting from my memories,” Roberts said.
The standout piece was a tribute to Milan’s beloved fashion editor Anna Piaggi, who died last August and has been the subject of numerous journalistic tributes. Roberts, who will be unable to attend Friday’s memorial at the city’s Palazzo Reale, said Piaggi was “brave, avant-garde and cool at the same time. In the way she dressed she was a complete icon. No one is like her. Anna was definitely the best.”
