Paolo Sorrentino's Oscar Win Celebrated in Italy

A new short commercial shows the Italian director zipping around Rome and Los Angeles in a shiny Fiat 500 car, dubbed “The Little Great Beauty.”

VIVA ITALIA: Director Paolo Sorrentino, whose “The Great Beauty” won an Oscar for Best Foreign Film, has caused a lot of chest puffing back at home, as the movie’s success validates the power of Italian creativity. To wit: A new short commercial by Indiana Production and Independent Ideas, the creative communication agency launched in 2007 by Lapo Elkann and Alberto Fusignani, now shows Sorrentino zipping around Rome and Los Angeles in a shiny Fiat 500 car, dubbed “The Little Great Beauty.”

“We are very proud to pay homage to Paolo Sorrentino’s amazing talent through this partnership with the iconic Fiat 500,” said Italia Independent Group president Elkann, calling the car “a symbol of Italian creativity and beauty all over the world.”
