PIAZZA SEMPIONE ON THE BLOCK?: A new owner may be on the horizon for Piazza Sempione. Chief executive officer Enrico Morra confirmed Tuesday that the Italian company is in negotiations with a potential investor to sell its assets. Hit by a financial crisis in 2011, Piazza Sempione is controlled by a Luxemburg-based holding company, owned by L Capital, the private equity arm of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Piazza Sempione’s founders, Marisa Guerrizio, her husband Roberto Monti and Morra, the only one of the seven former managers who invested in Piazza Sempione in 2009, still have shares in the company.
