POLET’S NEW ROLE: Safilo’s shareholder meeting confirmed the appointment of Roberto Vedovotto as the company’s chief executive officer and the nomination of Robert Polet, former ceo of Gucci Group, as chairman of the board. The board now counts nine members, with Melchert F. Groot, Giovanni Ciserani, Jeffrey A. Cole, Marco Jesi, Eugenio Razelli, Luisa Deplazes de Andrade Delgado and Massimiliano Tabacchi, in addition to Vedovotto and Polet.
Safilo, based in Padua, Italy, produces and distributes eyewear for a wide range of luxury labels, including Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Dior, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, in addition to its own Safilo and Carrera brands.
