WALK THIS WAY: Every step counts. That’s PPR’s mantra as it gets behind an event on June 7 to raise money for the European Leukodystrophy Association, which funds treatments and helps sufferers of the rare genetic disease that destroys the central nervous system.
PPR, the retail-to-luxury group, is encouraging its employees to put on their sneakers, strap on a pedometer and raise money: once cent per step in the normal course of work plus lunch-hour walks or organized tournaments. Any company in France can participate, and the likes of Mitsubishi Europe and Parfums Christian Dior have already registered.
In Paris, ELA is organizing a series of activities in the Monceau Park, including Nordic walking and other sporting activities, all in the presence of French soccer icon Zinédine Zidane, an ELA ambassador.
