SPURR STOPS SAMPLE LOANS: The public relations operations for Simon Spurr have stopped loaning out samples, in the wake of the designer’s sudden departure from the company. Starworks Group, which handles samples for editorial requests, said the firm was unable to send out product loans due to Spurr’s exit from the company on Friday. Sarvie Nasseri, who handles in-house public relations for Spurr, said the halt to sample loans was temporary. “At this time all p.r. is on hold,” she noted in an e-mail. Executives at the company continued to decline requests for comment on the future of the brand.
