François-Henri Pinault, Linda Evangelista Settle Child Support Case

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but both sides are set to return to court on Tuesday to approve the details of the agreement.

SUPER SETTLEMENT: François-Henri Pinault and supermodel Linda Evangelista walked out of Manhattan family court Monday afternoon all smiles. The PPR chairman and chief executive officer settled his case with his ex over child support for their six-year-old son, Augustin James. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but both sides are set to return to court today to approve the details of the agreement.

The case had become somewhat of a media circus, with reports that Evangelista was asking for $46,000 a month in child support, as well as allegations by the model’s lawyer that Pinault wanted her to abort the baby when he found out she was pregnant.

After a tense two days, in which both Pinault and Evangelista testified in court, the former couple appeared relaxed and even chummy, as they walked out of the courtroom together chatting, he, dressed in a navy suit and matching tie, and she, wearing a cheery floral A-line dress and black pumps.

“The less they say, the better,” Pinault’s attorney David Aronson told WWD, when asked if they will release a joint statement. “Everybody is glad for the benefit of the child that it’s done.”
