ALTA MODA: Los Angeles Ladies Who Lunch not only noshed at Bouchon Beverly Hills but also got their fill of Italian couture on Friday at a private tour of the Il Teatro alla Moda exhibit, a show mounted by the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts featuring archival opera and ballet costumes designed by Gianni Versace, Capucci, Missoni, Karl Lagerfeld for Fendi, Alberta Feretti, Romeo Gigli and Giorgio Armani among others. Jamie Tisch flew in from New York to team up with Annenberg, whose new Beverly Hills theater and performing arts complex will open in September 2013, to introduce her friends and potential young patrons to the center. The exhibit, on view through Dec. 18 at a temporary space conveniently located across the street from Thomas Keller’s restaurant, is on a world tour with Los Angeles as its only U.S. stop. “It’s so nice to have something like this here, when it’s usually in San Francisco or New York,” said Tisch. “And it gives me an excuse to visit all my L.A. girlfriends.” In addition to Monique Lhuillier, Pamela Skaist Levy, Gela Nash Taylor, Christina Zilber, Crystal Lourd, Heather Mnuchin, Gelila Puck, Jenny Belushi and Lori Loughlin, Capucci fan Tilda Swinton also stopped by to check out the finery. “I’m pretty happy to be in a room full of Capucci,” she said of being surrounded by over 500 yards of silk. “I’ve had the pleasure of wearing it when Bernhard Willhelm was designing there. Now all I want to do is pick these clothes up and touch them, they are so gorgeous.”
