WESTWARD HO: Muji is coming to California. The Ryohin Keikaku Co. Ltd.-owned apparel, interior and general goods retailer said Tuesday it is opening its first West Coast location in San Francisco at 540 9th Street in November. The 7,250-square-foot store will be Muji’s biggest in the U.S., where it has four stores. The store will mark Muji’s return to expansion in the U.S., where it had plans for store growth when it originally entered the country in 2007 that were shelved when the global economy sank. The San Francisco store will offer more than 2,000 items, including 1,700 household and 300 apparel pieces.
