It’s resort time and the living is easy, with the latest round of shows offering up plenty of shoes in wearable neutral shades and natural materials.
The season’s all-important transparency trend was noticeably visible on shoes at Badgley Mischka and Celine, while natural materials such as wood and cork were incorporated into platform sandals at Dior, Ralph Lauren and Thakoon. Tory Burch, meanwhile, opted for braided raffia for her resort collection, in which flatform sandals adorned with berry-colored pom-poms packed a playful punch.
Shades of blush, sand and taupe lightened up the season’s colorful palette, with touches of metallic adding polish to low block-heeled sandals at Michael Kors and Rachel Zoe. Stark white also made a sharp impression at Valentino and Versace.
While most designers showed opened-up warm weather styles for the coming season, light-hued boots also had a strong appearance at Salvatore Ferragamo, Altuzarra and Alexander Wang.
