Strong looks defined the men’s footwear in Milan this season, with a plethora of directional styles marching down the runways. Boots comprised a healthy portion of the season’s top looks, with double-buckle ankle straps adding a military-inspired edge at Gucci, Giorgio Armani and Fratelli Rossetti. Patent leather (at Marc Jacobs, Marni and Diesel), pony hair (at Burberry Prorsum) and tweed (at Bottega Veneta and Jimmy Choo) were key fabrications, while kiltie and tassel details continued to add a tailored flourish to the season’s sophisticated silhouettes.
