Frye Focuses on Sneakers
Known for its leather boots, Frye has turned an eye to sneakers for spring ’10, with a collection of buffalo leather kicks inspired by one of the brand’s most popular Western styles.
The Kira high-top sneaker, a women’s style and descendant of Frye’s Carson boot, comes in 13 colorways from magenta to brown and is set to retail at $128.
While the brand has previously included men’s sneakers in the mix, designers tapped into the extensive Frye archives to resurrect a 1970s-style running shoe for spring. The Reed, which blends suede and nylon on a rubber sole, is offered in eight colors and priced at $128.
Both sneaker collections are expected to sell at Thefryecompany.com and select retailers.
