While track-and-field may have more footwear-sponsored athletes in the Olympics this summer, the equestrian team will also represent.

Ariat International-sponsored Beezie Madden has qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in show jumping. Madden is a veteran of the Olympics, having competed in 2004 in Athens, Greece, where her double clear rounds helped the U.S. win the gold medal. In the 2008 games, she won her second consecutive team gold medal and earned a bronze in the individual show-jumping competition.

“We have incredible respect for Beezie and what she has accomplished in her riding career,” said Beth Cross, president and CEO of Ariat. “Her stellar determination and horsemanship skills are virtually unparalleled.”

Union City, Calif.-based Ariat will supply the U.S. Olympic equestrian team with official gear, and some of the riders, including Madden, will wear Ariat’s performance apparel in competition.
