Front Row at Louis Vuitton

Will Smith, Lily Allen and Tinie Tempah sat front row at the fall show.

LAY OF THE LAND: Surveying the scene at the Louis Vuitton men’s show on Thursday, Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts appeared slightly out of his element. “I’m not used to this kind of event, and I find it funny. There are a lot of characters here — it’s good,” he said. “They are, how shall I put it…case studies.”

The “Rust and Bone” star admitted he is still settling into his status as the face of Vuitton’s spring campaign. “It’s an honor, because normally, that’s something women do,” he said. “I’m not that comfortable in front of a still camera. I don’t know — it’s too direct. I find it a little invasive. The movie camera is a little indirect. But you learn.”

The towering actor will have to get comfortable with a lot more scrutiny this year. He has a slew of movies coming out, including “A Little Chaos,” with Kate Winslet, and “Far From the Madding Crowd,” opposite Carey Mulligan and Michael Sheen.

Will Smith posed for pictures with fellow guests including Lily Allen and Chinese actor Chang Chen, but declined to answer any questions, aside from confirming that his light gray suit and bright blue zip-up top were from Vuitton. “I’m LV-ed out — they hooked me up,” he joked.

Chang said he recently finished shooting “The Assassin,” a period drama directed by Hou Hsiao-Hsien, in which he plays a local king. “When I wear period costume, it feels more dramatic. Modern-day clothes are more casual,” he noted. “It means that at the end of the day, when I finish work, I can very quickly return to myself.”

Allen was looking tan after filming the video for her new single “Air Balloon” in South Africa, though she was tight-lipped on what to expect. “I can’t really tell you — like leopards, and zebras, and yeah…South African stuff,” she demurred.

British rapper Tinie Tempah said he is developing his fledgling streetwear label, Disturbing London, which launched recently with collaborations with Lavenham on a jacket and Mitchell & Ness on baseball caps.

“At the moment, it’s still very small, but by this time next year, we’re looking to try and do a presentation for it at London Collections  Men, and just take it a little bit more high-end, which is why we come to all these shows,” he said.

In the meantime, he had a message for Kanye West, who was also in town and expected to attend some shows.

“Musically, he’s just always been an inspiration to me. I think he’s like a trailblazer, very innovative when it comes to transcending the boundaries of rap and how we stereotypically perceive rap. So whether it’s his production or even like a vocal feature from him, I would just love to see his take and his perspective on my music and where I could take it,” he said.
