Front Row at Elie Saab

Clémentine Poidatz and Princess Beatrice were among those who sat front row.

TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT: Blame it on royal protocol. Princess Beatrice of York, sitting front row at the Elie Saab show Wednesday, politely deflected interview requests. “I’m so sorry, I’m not allowed to give interviews,” she demurred. The young royal joined guests including Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand and Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan for the display held in a tent in the Tuileries gardens. Down the row, French actress Clémentine Poidatz said she would appear soon in “Les robins des pauvres,” which translates as “Robins of the Poor,” a story of two brothers who rob banks to help the needy. “It’s very timely and it’s based on a true story that took place in Greece,” she said. “It makes you feel like starting a revolution. I don’t now if that’s good or bad!”
