BCBG Max Azria RTW Spring 2012
Max and Lubov Azria were going for an amalgamation of recent trends with their spring collection.
It was obvious what Max and Lubov Azria were going for with their spring collection — an amalgamation of recent trends, specifically colorblocking, neons and that stylishly off-kilter effect of throwing sporty outerwear over a feminine dress. They aren’t the only designers pulling from ideas that have been in the air. Yet the point taken from this lineup was that culling from the au courant is not a sure thing. The dresses, while pretty in silhouette, were needlessly complicated by splicing, panels, cutouts and piping, all done in contrast colors and tribal patterns. Some were worn with chiffon hoodies, also done in multicolored panels, in an effort to channel “active glamour” as the show notes professed.
